If the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed or cleaned, the ink absorber counter must be reset and the reset utility that is necessary to reset this counter is not available to the general public and normally found only at printer service facilities.
